On a formal solution for a discretized SIRS epidemic model
To understand infection mechanisms, the stability of the solution for continuous epidemic models is often discussed. However, Acedo et al. [1] recently proposed a formal solution for a continuous SIRS model. We apply analytical approach by [1] to a discretized SIRS model. This analytical approach can not be applied to discretized model using traditional numerical schemes. Sekiguchi and Ishiwata...
متن کاملA non-autonomous multi-strain SIS epidemic model.
In this paper we consider a non-autonomous multi-strain SIS epidemic model with periodic coefficients. Reproduction numbers and invasion reproduction numbers are derived which agree well with their counterparts usually derived from autonomous epidemic models. With conditions on these reproduction numbers typical results are obtained, such as the local and global stability of the disease-free eq...
متن کاملA Multi-city Epidemic Model
Some analytical results are given for a model that describes the propagation of a disease in a population of individuals who travel between n cities. The model is formulated as a system of 2n ordinary differential equations with terms accounting for disease transmission, recovery, birth, death, and travel between cities. The mobility component is represented as a directed graph with cities as v...
متن کاملGlobal stability for a multi-group SIRS epidemic model with varying population sizes
In this paper, by extending well-known Lyapunov function techniques, we establish sufficient conditions for the global stability of an endemic equilibrium of a multi-group SIRS epidemic model with varying population sizes which has cross patch infection between different groups. Our proof no longer needs such a grouping technique by graph theory commonly used to analyze the multi-group SIR models.
متن کاملGlobal stability of a network-based SIRS epidemic model with nonmonotone incidence rate
This paper studies the dynamics of a network-based SIRS epidemic model with vaccination and a nonmonotone incidence rate. This type of nonlinear incidence can be used to describe the psychological or inhibitory effect from the behavioral change of the susceptible individuals when the number of infective individuals on heterogeneous networks is getting larger. Using the analytical method, epidem...
